This peppermint White Russian is a festive twist on a beloved cocktail! The classic flavors of Kahlua and cream are given a bit of holiday spirit when they're mixed with peppermint and chocolate liquor, making this the perfect Christmas cocktail to indulge in by the fireplace this winter.
Today we’re kicking off a week of Christmas recipes as a countdown until Friday! First up: a drink I like to call “The White Christmas” (which is just a festive way to say peppermint White Russian). I’ve become a long-time lover of creamy cocktails, especially around the holidays - there’s just something about decadent, chocolatey drinks filled with booze that feels like Christmas, right? Well, I’ve outdone myself with this one, I have to say. I know that holiday-themed White Russians are not a new concept in the slightest, but with an extra splash of peppermint and a little chocolatey twist in the form of Godiva liqueur, this beauty is a unique and tasty way to get your holiday party started!

Ingredients & Equipment
You’ll need the following ingredients and kitchen equipment to make this peppermint White Russian:
- rocks glasses
- cocktail shaker
- Kahlua
- vanilla vodka
- Godiva chocolate liqueur
- cream or milk
- peppermint extract
- chocolate for melting
- crushed and whole candy canes
Customize This Recipe!
There are a few different ways you can customize this recipe:
- Try a different flavored vodka. There are countless festive flavors of vodka out there–if you want an even more unique flavor than vanilla, try salted caramel or gingerbread!
- Make a white chocolate rim instead of milk chocolate. If you want a sleeker look for your garnish, melt white chocolate for the rim–it will really make the crushed candy canes pop!
- Use fun sprinkles instead of peppermints to garnish. Do you like the taste of peppermint, but not so much eating actual candy canes? Try using fun holiday sprinkles on your glass rim instead of crushed peppermint!
Kitchen Tips:
- Utilize mise en place! Make sure you have all of your ingredients prepped and ready before you begin making this recipe - it will help save you time and keep you organized.
- Prep your glasses ahead of time. Making these cocktails will run much more smoothly if you garnish your glasses with the chocolate peppermint rim beforehand and let them freeze while you make the drinks.

- ⅓ cup crushed candy canes/peppermint
- whole candy canes optional
For the cocktails:
- 2 oz Kahlua
- 2 oz vanilla flavored vodka

- splash of peppermint extract
- 1 cup half and half or milk product of choice
Instructions

For the cocktails:
- Add your Kahlua, vodka, and liqueur to a shaker with ice and swirl to cool down.
- Pour the alcohol mixture into your glasses and add a splash of peppermint extract.
- If you like ice in your drink, add it here.
- Pour your half and half (or your milk product of choice) into your glasses, add your candy cane, and enjoy!
