Chocolate Cherry Brownies
Ingredients
For the brownies:
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate chopped
- 5 tablespoon unsalted butter room temp
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder sifted
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs room temp
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ cup chocolate chopped
- ½ cup sliced cherries
- ¼ cup sliced cherries for topping
For the icing:
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ºF and prepare an 8x8in square pan with parchment paper.
- Melt your chocolate and butter over a double boiler until fully combined and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Once your chocolate mixture is cooled slightly, whisk in your sugar until combined. Then add your eggs and vanilla, mixing after each one to fully combine.
- Fold in your dry ingredients in small batches, then do the same with your milk until batter is smooth.
- Then, fold in the chocolate and cherries until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and sprinkle some more sliced cherries on top.
- Bake the brownies for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out almost clean. Let them cool slightly.
- Make the icing by mixing the milk and powdered sugar together, then drizzle it on top of the brownies. Slice and serve!
