I’m a sucker for a Moscow mule, and I knew I wanted to make a festive holiday mule that I could serve in a pitcher for Christmas Eve this year. It's bright and citrussy, made with fresh cranberries and oranges to get you into the holiday spirit. Freeze some fruit into your ice cubes and fill your pitcher to make an even prettier batch!

You’ll need the following ingredients and equipment to make this cranberry Moscow mule:
- large pitcher
- copper mugs
- large ice molds
- cranberry juice
- ginger beer
- cranberries
- vodka
- cinnamon sticks
- oranges
Customize This Recipe!
- Use blood oranges instead of regular ones. For an even more stunning presentation, use blood oranges! The red and orange contrast will look beautiful.
- Try a flavored ginger beer. To give this cocktail a bit more fizz and flavor, try an extra spicy ginger beer, or even a flavor like lime or peach!

- Utilize mise en place! Make sure you have all of your ingredients prepped and ready before you begin making this recipe - it will help save you time and keep you organized.
- Freeze your fruity ice cubes at least a day in advance. You don't want to start making your mules only to remember that you forgot the ice cubes! Be sure to have them ready for the day you'll make this pitcher.
FAQ
I haven't tried scaling this recipe down yet, but you should be able to use about ⅕ of the original measurements to get a single serving (but make sure to use at least 1 oz vodka!).
You can use your favorite brand of ginger beer! If you're not sure what you like, Goslings is a classic.

Cranberry Moscow Mules - The Muletide Cheer Cocktail
Ingredients
- handful of large ice cubes
- 32 oz cranberry juice
- 1-2 cans ginger beer
- ¼ cup cranberries for muddling - optional
- ½ cup vodka
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 orange sliced
- handful of fresh cranberries
Instructions
- Put your large ice cubes into your pitcher - they should nearly reach the top of the container.
- Mix half of a large bottle of cranberry juice (about 32 oz) and your ginger beer in a large pitcher.
- If muddling cranberries for extra flavor, put cranberries and vodka into a cocktail shaker and muddle together, then strain.
- Pour in the vodka and stir.
- Add your cinnamon sticks and any other fruit you're using as garnish.
- Pour into individual copper mugs and enjoy!
