ALBUM: folklore
folklore is a hopeful album to me; yes, it deals with some intense lows, but the overarching feeling is anticipation and eagerness. The album is reminiscent of past times, but still looks forward to new ones and shows that we can appreciate what we once had while still being open to progressing and changing for the better. The songs on folklore sound much calmer and more peaceful than Taylor’s previous albums as a whole, with more of a slow, folk vibe. Much like her album cover, the songs resemble how a solitary wander in the woods can feel: being at peace with yourself, feeling serenity in solitude. I wanted to bring that calm, earthy feeling to this cocktail, and tea is one of my favorite cozy drinks that felt like the perfect fit. Paired with gin and sweet St. Germain, infused with fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme, this cocktail is delightfully homey and rustic. It just tastes like an old folk song, and I couldn’t have found a more perfect antique glass to serve it in.

“Time, mystical time, cutting me open then healing me fine.”
