You’ll need the following ingredients to make this homemade sweet potato ravioli:
- Pasta dough
- Rolling pin
- Round cookie cutter
- Sweet potato
- Brown sugar
- Parmesan cheese
- Nutmeg
- Salt and pepper
Customize This Recipe!
There are a few different ways you can customize this recipe:
- Add a little bit of spice. If you want some kick to this ravioli filling, add in a dash of cayenne and sprinkle of red pepper flakes - it’s a great balance that tastes phenomenal with a brown butter or sweet cream sauce.
- Make fun shapes! You don't need a ravioli mold to make these bundles of goodness - any small cookie cutter will do. The cuter the shape, the better!

Homemade Sweet Potato Ravioli
Ingredients
For the pasta:
- homemade pasta dough rolled in flat sheets
For the filling:
- 1 sweet potato baked and mashed
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ⅛ cup parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon nutmeg
- salt and pepper to taste
- red pepper flakes optional
Instructions
To cook the sweet potato:
- Peel, chop, and boil on the stovetop until fully tender. then mash the sweet potato until completely smooth.
To make the filling:
- Mix together mashed potato, brown sugar, nutmeg, parmesan and salt and pepper until fully combined.
To assemble the ravioli:
- To fill the ravioli, you’ll want two dough sheets of the same size - using a small donut cutter, cut out as many circles in each dough sheet as you can.
- Place a small spoonful of filling on half the number of dough circles, then place another circle on top, pressing the edges down firmly with your fingers.
- Take a fork and make imprints along the edges to further seal and add a bit of texture.
To cook the ravioli:
- Boil around 2-4 minutes, or longer depending on how soft you like your ravioli - just don’t boil them too long, or they’ll explode!
- Top with a sauce of your choice and enjoy!
