I need to get better at rolling each piece on the fork correctly, but other than that, this gnocchi recipe is just chef’s kiss.

There are a few different ways you can customize this recipe:
- Make it savory or sweet. I love a good balance of flavors in most dishes, but if you prefer one or the other, you can choose a really sweet or really savory sauce to match your craving!
- Topping suggestions: Sweet potato has a super versatile flavor which means you can go in lots of directions with toppings! Some of my favorites are walnuts, bacon, parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, sage, and cinnamon.

- Gnocchi rolling tips: You can use a fork to gently roll your gnocchi pieces and give them ridges, or you can simply leave your gnocchi in little cylinders after you cut them - no rolling needed!

Homemade Sweet Potato Gnocchi
Ingredients
- 2 medium sweet potatoes
- 2 ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 ¼ cups flour
Instructions
- Peel and chop your sweet potatoes into large chunks and boil for about 20 minutes, until soft.
- Mash the potatoes and add in salt, pepper, and oil until fully combined.
- Mix in flour with a wooden spoon or your hands and knead until a dough forms. add in more flour by small handfuls if the dough is a little too sticky.
- Divide dough into 2-4 parts.
- Cover your surface area in flour and roll out each section of the dough into a long rope.
- Cut the dough into rough 1-inch pieces, rolling along a fork if you want some texture to them.
- Boil in water until gnocchi rises to the top of the pot, just a few minutes.
- Heat up your choice of sauce in a pan while you drain your gnocchi, then add the gnocchi to your sauce pan + coat evenly.
