Avocado Toast with Chicken and Burrata

This chicken and burrata avocado toast is a hearty handheld lunch with tons of flavor! It’s made with mashed avocado, southwestern chicken, lots of cheese, and creamy burrata all piled on top of crispy ciabatta bread.

This southwestern chicken and burrata avocado toast is anything but basic! I’m all for taking standard recipes up a notch, and this one is a truly delicious spin on your classic avocado toast. Adding chicken, cheese, and burrata makes this avocado toast much heartier, more filling, and more flavorful! You can use pre-cooked, southwestern-seasoned chicken (like I did) or make your own, and be sure to use a hearty bread like ciabatta or sourdough for maximum support – we’ve got a lot of toppings going on, here!

Ingredients & Equipment

You’ll need the following ingredients to make this southwestern chicken and burrata avocado toast:

  • Olive oil
  • Ciabatta bread
  • Avocado
  • Shredded cheese
  • Grilled chicken breast (I used Perdue’s southwestern style)
  • Burrata
  • Italian blend seasoning
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper

Customize This Recipe!

There are a few different ways you can customize this recipe:

  • Prepare your chicken how you like. You can bread it and fry it, grill it, toss it in the air fryer, and use any seasonings or marinades you want here!
  • Add a sauce. If you want even more flavor and color, add your favorite sauce or dressing – spread it on your bread or drizzle it over top!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 slices ciabatta bread thickly sliced
  • 1 avocado mashed
  • ¼ cup shredded cheese
  • 1 ball burrata room temp
  • sliced grilled chicken breast (I like pre-cooked from Perdue)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Italian seasoning
  • red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Drizzle your bread slices with olive oil and bake at 350ºF for about 10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  • Spread your mashed avocado on each slice, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Add shredded cheese and sliced chicken on top of the avocado.
  • Cut your burrata in half and spread on top of each toast.
  • Top with more salt and pepper, and add Italian herbs and red pepper flakes.
  • Drizzle with more oil, or balsamic vinaigrette and serve!
