- Oregano

There are a few different ways you can customize this recipe:
- Play with different herbs. This is a simple brown butter sauce that only uses oregano, but you can try out different herbs like thyme, sage, and parsley to find a unique combination that you enjoy!
- Add meat. A cured meat like bacon, pancetta, or guanciale is an amazing addition to make this sauce a bit heartier!

- Utilize mise en place! Make sure you have all of your ingredients prepped and ready before you begin making this recipe - it will help save you time and keep you organized.
- Use a light colored pan. Stainless steel or any other brightly colored pans will make it much easier to tell when your browned butter is done - black or dark pans are still fine to use, but you'll have to pay very close attention to the butter to make sure it doesn't burn!

Brown Butter Pasta Sauce
Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or chopped fresh
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat until melted.
- Continue cooking for about 5 minutes, until butter is brown in color and has a rich, nutty smell.
- Add in cream and oregano and stir until combined, then simmer for about a minute. Stir occasionally.
- Add in parmesan cheese, salt and pepper and stir again, simmering for another minute or two (until sauce thickens slightly).
- Fold into or pour on top of dish and serve!
