This festive holiday bark is the perfect Christmas treat to make with the whole family! Just melt your favorite chocolate and add in all your favorite toppings to make a quick and easy holiday dessert.
I’m sharing my two favorite styles of holiday bark here for you - one is white chocolate bark with M&M’s, nonpareils, and pretzels, and the other is dark chocolate bark with crushed peppermints. Holiday bark is such a fun treat for all ages to make, and it’s so versatile, too! You can mix and match flavors, colors, and ingredients to cater to any time of year, any holiday or other occasion! I particularly love Christmas-themed bark because of the festive colors, and because it’s an easy fan favorite to make - it's such a quick, simple recipe that's easily shared by a crowd.

Festive Holiday Bark Two Ways
Ingredients
For the dark chocolate peppermint bark:
- 3-4 cups dark chocolate chips/melting wafers
- ¾ cup crushed peppermint/candy canes
- ¼ cup Sno Caps or standard nonpareils
For the white chocolate pretzel bark:
- 3-4 cups white chocolate chips/melting wafers
- ½ cup red, green, and brown m&m’s peanut and regular
- ½ cup crushed pretzels any shape/size
- ¼ cup Sno Caps or standard nonpareils
Instructions
- Line a standard baking pan with parchment paper.
- Prepare your toppings (crush, chop, separate colors, etc.) before melting your chocolate.
- Put chocolate chips/wafers into a microwave safe bowl and heat at 30 second intervals. Stir after every interval.
- Once chocolate is almost fully melted, do not overheat. stir continuously to get any remaining chips melted. consistency should be very smooth, and should drip off your spatula.
- Pour melted chocolate over the lined baking pan and spread out evenly using a spatula. you can spread the chocolate as thick or thin as you like, but thicker will make the bark much sturdier.
- Top your chocolate bark with your toppings, sprinkling them over the chocolate evenly.
- Place pan in the freezer for about 20 minutes, or until the chocolate has fully set.
- Break up the bark into smaller pieces and serve!
Notes
- Instead of spreading the chocolate first and then topping it with your add-ons, you can also mix the add-ons into the chocolate before pouring out and spreading on the pan. This will ensure the toppings are spread throughout the bark and not just on top.
