Preheat your oven to 350ºF and prepare an 9x9in square pan with parchment paper.
Melt your chocolate and butter over a double boiler until fully combined and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
Once your chocolate mixture is cooled slightly, whisk in your sugar until combined. Then add your eggs and vanilla, mixing after each one to fully combine.
Fold in your dry ingredients in small batches, then do the same with your Guinness until batter is smooth. Then, fold in the chocolate chips until just combined.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out almost clean.
Let the brownies cool completely before frosting.
