Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoon butter room temp
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1 ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cheesecake M&M's
  • ½ cup fudge M&M's
  • 2 oz semi sweet chocolate chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350ºF and wipe a seasoned 10in cast iron skillet with butter.
  • Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl until combined and fluffy, then add in your egg, vanilla extract, and peanut butter and stir fully until smooth.
  • Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, folding together until combined.
  • Fold in your chocolate chunks and M&M's until evenly spread throughout dough.
  • Press the cookie dough down evenly in your skillet, smoothing out the top.
  • Add a few more chocolate chunks on top to melt down.
  • Bake cookie for 18-20 minutes or until the edges are nice and golden brown, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Utilize mise en place! Make sure you have all of your ingredients prepped and ready before you begin making this recipe - it will help save you time and keep you organized.
  • Add fruit. If you want a fruitier flavor instead of rich and fudgy, add raspberries or strawberries instead of the M&M’s.
  • Serve with ice cream. I love eating skillet cookies as-is, but if you really want to indulge, put a few scoops of your favorite ice cream on top while the cookie is still warm!
