For the rosemary syrup:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 sprig of rosemary

For the margaritas:

  • ¾ cup fresh cranberries
  • ¼ cup tequila
  • 1 lime
  • 1 orange
  • salt/sugar for rim

  • fresh cranberries for garnish

Instructions

For the rosemary syrup:

  • In a pot over the stove, mix one cup sugar and one cup water on medium heat. Add in a sprig of rosemary and stir.
  • Stir until sugar dissolves completely, then let the simple syrup cool on the stove while you make your drinks.

For the margaritas:

  • Add ¾ cup of cranberries to your shaker (or just a cup) and add your tequila. Muddle the cranberries into the tequila to release the flavor and color.
  • Cut a lime in half and use it to rim your glasses. Dip them in salt, sugar, or a mixture of both.
  • Squeeze the lime and half of the orange into the shaker and mix together.
  • Pour the simple syrup into the shaker/cup along with a handful of ice and shake.
  • Fill your glasses to the top with ice cubes, then pour your cocktails over the ice.

For the garnish:

  • Use some leftover simple syrup or water to soak some cranberries and rosemary sprigs, then roll them in sugar and place on top of your glasses.
