Enjoy this festive eggnog French toast on a cozy Christmas morning! Thick slices of bread bathed in eggnog and cinnamon sugar are cooked to perfection and topped with sliced bananas, maple syrup, and homemade whipped cream.

Ingredients

For the French toast:

  • 4 slices white or wheat bread
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup eggnog
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon spiced rum optional

For the whipped cream:

  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions

For the French toast:

  • In a small bowl, whisk your egg well. Whisk in eggnog until fully combined.
  • Add in the sugar, vanilla and rum and mix well.
  • Dunk your bread slices in the egg wash until fully coated and heat on the stovetop on low-medium heat until golden brown, about 4 minutes each side.

For the whipped cream:

  • In a standard mixer with the whisk attachment, whip your cream until soft peaks form.
  • Add in your vanilla and sugar and mix until stiff peaks form.
  • Top your French toast with whipped cream and syrup and enjoy!
